Court-Ordered Auction Pulls in Record Prices for Pennsylvania Land, Oil/Gas Rights Auction Event.   
Six Parcels in the Marcellus Shale Play Bring Over $2.4 Million Dollars. 

November 11, 2013 (KANSAS CITY, Mo.) – As the result of a strategic auction marketing campaign by MineralMarketing.Com and United Country Real Estate, over 222 acres of land and oil and gas mineral rights in Susquehanna and Bradford counties, Penn., sold at a court-ordered auction Wednesday, Oct. 30 at record prices.  The sale offered six parcels in Pennsylvania’s Marcellus Shale Gas Play, some of which fetched as much as $16,700 an acre, which is believed to be a record for both counties.  

“This event was a prime example of why the auction process is a win-win proposition,” said Randy Jelliff of United Country – Jelliff Auction Group, who is a representative in Pennsylvania for MineralMarketing.Com acted as auctioneer for the event. “Auctions allow buyers to determine a property’s fair market value through the competitive bidding process, making it an effective and expedient way to buy and sell property in today’s market.”  

The auction drew 38 live and online bidders from Alabama, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Texas and Virginia. There were well over 80 people total in attendance. The auction event brought in $2,448,600 for the seller.  

“The marketing for this auction was well-planned and executed to a ‘T.’” said Tom Mullen, broker with United Country – Tom Mullen & Associates. “Its effectiveness was evident in the extensive participation garnered at the auction. United Country’s Enhanced Marketing Solutions division (EMS) was contracted to produce the marketing campaign.

“The strategic relationship between United Country Real Estate and MineralMarketing.Com was leveraged and the auction was marketed throughout the oil and gas industry as well as the local and regional rural property markets,” said Shawn Terrel, chief operations officer for MineralMarketing.Com. “This produced strong interest and participation from energy investors and acquisition groups across the country. Cooperation and precise teamwork within the three entities producing and conducting the auction was paramount to the overall success of the event.”
